Mr. Cornell, Mrs. Krawczyk, Mrs. Meade, Maestra Martin, and Maestra Rusher want to welcome you and your child to "Pathways Discoveries" and "Dual Language". Our goal is to provide your child with a well-balanced, high quality, and
academically rich education that promotes independent thinking and teamwork skills.
We will help prepare them to be responsible, organized, self-disciplined, and ready to enter the next grade with
the tools and knowledge to feel successful in school and beyond.
The Dual Language portion of our program supports second-language development and cross-cultural understanding
using the 50/50 model, providing a rigorous learning experience in Spanish and English that is both culturally and linguistically responsive. Our dual language students become bilingual, biliterate and culturally competent learners who demonstrate high academic achievement in all areas, demonstrating global competencies to engage effectively with the wider world and cultures.

Our Email Addresses Student Cell Phones
The following are the District and school rules and protocols. 1. Students are allowed to bring personal cell phones to school. 2. Cell phones MUST be kept in student backpacks, and not in clothing pockets or binders. 3. Students can NOT use phones or other devices during any portion of the school day, in any area, unless a teacher or other staff member gives permission, even if a BYOD permission slip has been turned in. 4. If any device rules are broken, such as having a cell phone out in class or on the playground, a teacher or other staff member can take it from the student. The phone will then be in our school office and a parent must come to retrieve it. 5. The school and District are not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged cell phones. Please let us, our office staff, or Principal Maier know if you have any questions. Suggested Student Supplies

Daily Attendance
is THE MOST IMPORTANT FACTOR for your child’s success! Keeping them out of school for trips and “fun stuff” (casual absences) disrupts their education and severely interrupts their learning. Thank you for keeping them in school! P.E. and Recess
All students MUST wear closed toed shoes that are suitable for daily physical education activities. Flip flops, sandals, and boots are among the type of footwear that are considered unsafe and inappropriate, and can not be allowed. To be excused from PE for health reasons, students must bring a parent note that will excuse them for that day’s PE period. Doctor’s notes excuse students for a period of time the doctor deems necessary. P.E. is mandated by the State of California and daily participation is necessary and very important. Daily Nutrition Daily nutrition has a direct and profound effect on your child's brain, learning, and overall physical and mental well-being. We encourage a good, healthy breakfast, snack, and lunch, which will enable them to move successfully through the school day. Water bottles are highly recommended. Sugary drinks and sweets are discouraged. District and State nutritional protocols also prohibit us from allowing cupcakes, cookies, and other such treats to be given to our students unless during some pre-planned and approved school day celebrations. Please do not bring/send in these types of foods for birthdays, as we would not be allowed to distribute them. We appreciate your understanding in this matter. |
